Just like “Eagles” – ee-glz.
The slightly unusual spelling makes a lot more sense once you know where the name came from…
EAGL-S is quite literally a family name.
The G is Gary, the S is Sharon, and E, A and L are the initials of our three children.
When Gary started the business in 2013, spending more time with the family was one of the reasons for leaving his previous career and becoming self-employed, so it seemed fitting that they should all be part of the name.
And no, we weren't having another baby just to get the extra E!
After more than 20 years working as an HGV mechanic, Gary decided it was time for a change.
He wanted to do something more creative, become his own boss and, importantly, spend more time with his family.
In 2013, EAGL-S was born.
No. It started much smaller.
One of the first investments was a wide-format printer, producing stickers for local clubs and small businesses. Word spread, customers started asking for other things, and the business gradually grew around what our customers needed.
Over the years we've added more equipment, more skills and a much wider range of services – including our own professional embroidery and garment-printing facilities.
EAGL-S is run by Gary and Sharon.
We're a small, independent family business, so when you email, call or visit us, you're dealing directly with the people looking after your order.
No call centres. No sales reps. Just us.
We're based in Blaxton, Doncaster, where we have our own dedicated embroidery and print workshop.
We're not a high-street shop, but customers are welcome to visit or collect orders by prior arrangement.
Yes – a lot more than people probably realise!
We have professional embroidery, garment printing and wide-format print equipment in our own workshop and produce a large proportion of our work ourselves.
For products requiring specialist equipment or processes we don't have in-house, we work with trusted trade suppliers.
We're proudly based in Doncaster and work with lots of businesses locally, but we're certainly not limited to Doncaster.
We work with businesses, organisations and individuals from much further afield too, with orders available for collection or delivery.
It's actually something that's been part of the business since day one: treat customers the way we'd expect to be treated ourselves.
That means being approachable, giving honest advice, paying attention to the details and speaking up if we think something isn't going to work.
Sometimes the best advice we can give a customer isn't simply “yes”.
